Checklist: receiving your container

What to do the day the container reaches your warehouse.

• Check the container and seal number against the bill of lading before you open the doors.
• Photograph the doors, the seal and the load as soon as the doors open.
• Count the pallets against the packing list.
• Note any damaged or wet pallets on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.
• Report damage to us within the period on your pro-forma so we can file the cargo insurance claim on CIF shipments.
• Sort by department first, then by condition, before you price anything.
