  • EAC common external tariff, 16% VAT, 3.5% import declaration fee and 2% railway levy.
  • Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania ban used clothing (mitumba). Ship only new apparel for transit cargo.
  • The shilling has been steady at around KSh129 to the dollar, so advance wires are realistic.
